What is a BTEC in Driving Science?

Why do a BTEC in Driving Science?
Do you know anyone that has been killed or badly hurt in a car crash, or someone involved in a car accident? Most people between 15 and 25 know at least one person who has, and that's not surprising because 1 in 5 new drivers will crash within a year of passing their test. The a2om BTEC in Driving Science has been designed to make you a better driver from day one, so after passing your test, you'll be above the required standard and safer on the road.
The frontal lobe (the part of the brain that anticipates danger and assesses risk) is not developed until about the age of 25 (that's why insurance goes down at that age!)
19 out of 20 crashes are caused by attitude and behavior (i.e. human factors such as distraction) rather than any lack of vehicle handling skills.
BTEC addresses the above issues by 'Brain Training' the frontal lobe to start processing things earlier than normal, thus producing a better driver at an earlier age.
What does BTEC involve?
Training that addresses the importance of integrating the right attitude with car control skills. Over 5 modules (one post test) you'll also cover night time and motorway driving, risk management and decision making skills. These will not only make you safer but also more likely to pass first time. The training can run concurrently with your driving tuition or if you are already qualified, some post test tuition and the remaining learning on-line at your own pace.
You'll have access to 2 award winning e-learning systems: a2om mind (a brain training development programme) and a2om highway (a comprehensive on-line learning environment which supports students in car sessions). These systems are designed to help develop your mental fitness for driving using specific motoring scenarios that will ultimately make you more skillfull on the roads.
To complete each module, you must sucessfully pass a combination of on-line and in car assessments. You are allowed unlimited retakes and will be advised when you are ready for your assessments.
